Manifolds Side by Side
Guess which is the stock???

The bottom is the ported 95+ manifold. The 2g mannys flow better period. The porting just makes it all the better.
I bought a 16G gasket for the manifold and used it as the template for the turbo port job.

Here is the engine without the turbo, manifold and fan. I had some broken studs which I replaced with new ones. I actually replaced 8 of the 9 when all was said and done. I used vise grips to back the whole ones out. For the broken ones, I used a screw extractor (set of 5 from Sears) and 5/32 drill bit (startign with a smaller size first). I CAREFULLY drilled into the broke stud (Too deep is Too bad, don't wanna drill into the head). Then inserted the extractor and backed it out slowly with vise grips. If you buy the old fashioned screw extractor from sears they give you a bit that corresponds with the extractor. Nice. The newer extractors that drill in (With collet screw down) seem too risky for this job. Note: I covered the exhaust port where I was drilling (Pic showed only 2 covered I had pulled the tape off the other two b4 Pic).
