Valve Body / Shift Kit Page 2

Remove the 8mm bolts from the lower valve body (white marks).
There are a lot of bolts involved in this. Here I took a piece of paper and pen and made a rough drawing of the lower valve body. I then marked where the screws go and stuck them through the paper. I carefully placed it to the side. This worked well.
Remove other screws from the same side and do paper thing again. Carefully take the lower valve body off and you will see the upper laying face up. I few things (balls, stops, etc.) may fall out. Keep them in order and the instructions provided with kit will indicate where they go.
The upper valve body. This is a good time to clean if necessary. I used a blow gun and compressed air. You may want to use Carburetor cleaner to remove build up. Careful not to blow parts out of the valve body. My car has low miles so the body looks very clean. Remove the steel balls. They will be replaced eventually.
Let's start with the N-D control. Remove the N-D valve stop (arrow). It does not go back in at all.
The right side. Add the silver shim spring. Note: the N-D Valve will want to fall out so you may choose to leave it out until the 2 screw retainer is added back on upon rebuild (you'll know what it is upon removal). I left the valve out while doing the other side. The spring should stay attached to the end.
Now the other side. Remove the screws shown here. Try to ease the plate off so springs don't shoot out. You want to keep it together.
Once removed, you see all the springs and other goodies.
Starting from the top. Do one at a time to avoid mix-up. First spring stays. Here I am removing the rear clutch exhaust. Switch the OEM spring with the Purple Spring. Put it back in.
Leave 3rd spring from top alone and in place. Switch OEM spring in the 4th (pressure regulator) with White/Gray Spring.
The 5th down (TC Control) change OEM spring to Orange spring.
The last (Pressure Control) is your choice Red or Black. After much surveying on the DSM boards I decided to go with the Black spring. It doesn't seem to aggressive for normal driving once you get used to it. So, I changed the OEM spring to the Black spring.
Double check the instructions provided, recheck everything and carefully put the plate back on. The PR adjustment needs to be installed correctly. I slowly bolted the bolts down to be certain not to bend or twist any springs, etc.. A few turns starting from the outer then going towards the middle, keeping the plate level as tightening.
The white arrows show the placement of the Aurum balls. The Tan arrows show where to put the valve stops.
Cleaning plate off with blow gun before rebuilding.
